enhorse revolutionises horse training of today! enhorse is the first training management system worldwide, which is using the heart rate variability (HRV) in order to determine the recovery and fitness level of sport horses. This information forms the basis for optimal training decisions and a victorious competition. Overtraining and undertraining are avoided and the horse is strong and fit at the right time.
The heart rate variability (HRV) is the physiological phenomenon of variation in the time interval between consecutive heartbeats. The higher the variability the better the organism is able to cope with training. HRV is a precise indicator of how well an individual is recovering and gives convincing information on its fitness and recovery level. It can be used for an individualized training to improve the performance level of horses and enables “smart” training.
Compared with other established systems (stride length or pulse measuring devices) enhorse is not used during the training. enhorse is used when the horse is at rest. The sensor is recording a high-resolution ECG, which is used to calculate the heart rate variability and the heart rate. An additional sensor is measuring the respiratory frequency. The heart rate variability forms the basis the recovery calculation. The combination of heart rate and respiratory frequency allow the calculation of stress.
